EMPTA stands for English Martyrs' Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA is run by a committee of volunteers from the parents of the children who attend English Martyrs' Primary School, details of which are shown below. All parents with children at the school automatically become members of the PTA and are very welcome to attend all the PTA meetings and be involved in all its' activities.
The PTA:
- organises fun events throughout the school year for the children, such as the christmas present stall and end of term disco
- raises additional funds for the school from these events
- fosters a community spirit amongst the parents, teachers and children
To give you an idea of what the PTA can buy for the school from these events, some of the items purchased by the PTA have been:
- outdoor equipment for Key Stage 1 children
- CD Players & CDs
- a trophy display cabinet
- aprons for arts & crafts
The PTA also pays for a local theatre to come to the school and perform a Pantomine at Christmas for the children, as well as purchasing the Year 6 leavers' bibles and other gifts for the children.
All forthcoming events are posted on the EMPTA Noticeboard in the playground.
